The Homestead Basin — Vintage Japanese Lusterware with Currier & Ives Winter Pastoral Scene
The kind of bowl that makes a dresser feel like it has a whole era behind it.
A vintage Japanese lusterware basin bowl dressed in a dreamy iridescent pearl glaze that shifts from cream to blush to gold in changing light. At its centre, a hand-painted Currier & Ives winter pastoral farmhouse scene — the same homestead, hushed under snow. Gold floral and botanical motifs scatter across the body, the scalloped rim finished in warm hand-applied gold trim. Marked Japan on the base with the original Currier & Ives foil crown label intact.
